Recommended camera bags for the Canon 5D Mark III (with a 70-200mm attached)

3 great bags that will fit the Canon 5D Mark III + 70-200mm f/2.8

When I ordered my 5D Mark III I started looking for a new bag that would hold the camera, a 70-200mm lens and (it at all possible) the hood in the extended position.

These are the three bags I was recommended by various users on photography forums.

Think Tank Digital Holster (DH) 50 V2.0

For a top loading holster type camera bag that will hold a 70-200 f/2.8 with the hood extended the DH 50 from Think Tank is definitely one to look at.

Think Tank Sling-O-Matic 20

It's not the prettiest sling bag in the world, but it will comfortably hold a 70-200mm f/2.8 with the hood in position. Watch the video to get an idea of how big a setup this Sling-O-Matic handles.

Grabbing your gear in a ready-to-shoot configuration is the biggest selling point of this one.

Tamrac 5788 Evolution 8

The Tamrac 5788 Evolution 8 can act as a sling bag, but not if you want to have your hood attached in shooting position to your 70-200mm - but it's a great solid backpack that will protect your gear nicely

  1. This is a really nice review for amateurs like me who just recently got into photography. I'v been interested into photography for quite some time now but only recently that I got the chance to pursue it. I mostly go to the beach with my camera that's why I'm thinking of getting a water proof camera bag. Stylish and convenient at the same time.
